The Congaree Vista Guild, a non-profit, membership-based organization comprising a wide variety of restaurateurs, shop, business and gallery owners, homeowners and museums in the Vista, announces the grand opening of Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop at 929 Gervais St.

Rocket Fizz, owned by Ann and Kyle Sims and Ineke and James Morris, two veteran families who are based in Fayetteville, N.C., offers a selection of old-fashioned and gourmet soda pops and candy. Rocket Fizz also features more than 400 varieties of bottled soda pop, nearly 100 different flavors of saltwater taffy and plenty of nostalgic décor.

“On any given day, the Vista is full of tourists and locals alike,” said Meredith Atkinson, executive director of the Vista Guild. “Rocket Fizz’s high traffic location on Gervais Street has already proven to be attractive to passers-by and a destination for sweet treats and more for locals. We are thrilled to welcome them to the neighborhood.”

The Sims opened the first Rocket Fizz in Fayetteville in 2015 and then partnered with the Morrises in 2016. Rocket Fizz here in Columbia opened here in Columbia earlier this summer.
