Vista Guild Plans #ArtistaVista19, April 18 and 20

April 13, 2019

Artista Vista, the Midlands’ most celebrated gallery crawl, returns Thursday, April 18, 2019. Vista galleries will open their doors from 5-9 p.m. Thursday, April 18 (for Art Night), and these special shows will also be available for viewing during regular gallery hours April 20 (for Art Day), as part of this free, signature Vista gallery crawl.

In its 28th year, Artista Vista participating galleries will feature regionally and nationally renowned artists, as well as local artists from the Midlands. Attendees can chat with gallery owners and artists while taking in paintings, sculpture, pottery and jewelry. Stay tuned as the Vista Guild announces its full Artista Vista schedule.

This Year at Artista Vista:

Lantern and Light Parade: Artista Vista organizers are once again hosting the Lantern and Light Parade, which will take place at dusk (around 8 p.m.) during Artista Vista on Thursday, April 18. Soda City Brass Band will lead the parade through the streets of the Vista. Lanterns at the Lantern and Light Parade have become increasingly creative, and the Vista Guild will offer a free lantern-making workshop before the parade.

The public is encouraged to attend and participate in the parade, and the Vista Guild will host a lantern-making workshop right before the parade on Thursday, April 18, 5 – 7:30 p.m. at Art Night at Artista Vista under the Lincoln Street canopy by Blue Marlin. The Vista Guild will have lantern-making materials on hand for Light and Lantern Parade participants. Led by artists Jugnu Verna and Frey Mudd, this workshop, lightbulbs and materials are free. Lantern-makers can take their finished lanterns to the parade, which will begin at dusk (around 8 p.m.).
